Since 1999, the JFS Senior Care Management program has assisted older adults in the Coachella Valley with vital advocacy and case management services. The program enables seniors to enjoy a higher quality of life while maintaining the greatest degree of independence possible. Services are open to those who are 60 and older of all faiths and economic levels. Many of the seniors in the program are home-bound and live on a fixed income. In addition, for family members residing out of the area and want peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe and well cared for, JFS provides in-home case management services on a sliding fee scale.
JFS Express provides transportation services for local seniors to medical appointments. JFS Express was created in 2008 to address this very basic, yet very prevalent, barrier to care. JFS Express relies on volunteer drivers to provide transportation to seniors.
The JFS Friendly Visitor program matches volunteers with seniors who are homebound or have limited mobility to provide companionship and support. The Friendly Visitor program began in 1982 and has been an important asset to seniors throughout the Valley for three decades.
