JFS Delivers Handmade
Holiday Cards to Over 200 Clients
Dr. Josh Levin, a long-standing volunteer, hand-crafted over 200 beautiful Chanukah and Christmas cards, which were delivered to JFS clients in the hopes of brightening their holiday spirit in these unprecedented times. Julie Hirsch, JFS Director of Community Outreach asked Josh, who has shared his artistic expertise with card-making workshops at Let’s Do Lunch! if he would help with the holiday card program, and Josh was so thrilled to quickly get right to work.
Dr. Levin, originally from New York, made his way to Los Angeles and then to the Coachella Valley. Josh, a retired Orthodontist, has also enjoyed careers in house flipping and art.
Josh found a balanced blend of his parents stating, “My mother was an artist and my father an Orthodontist!” Josh is a talented sculptor, painter, glass mosaic, and collage artist and is proud to display his work at home bringing color and 3-D excitement to the eye complementing its unique architecture.
Josh’s love for teaching art classes stems from when his mother was residing in assisted living and needed an artistic distraction and outlet. “The class that brings me the most joy is the collage card making class because everyone leaves with something finished that they can give to others,” said Dr. Levin.
What better way to share sentiments than by sending a handmade, hand-written, good old fashion greeting card?
