Best wishes to you for a wonderful Holiday season!
Can you believe summer is over! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer with family and friends! We so look forward to our snowbirds returning and are grateful to our supporters who were with us all year!
Our clinicians are back in the Palm Springs Unified School District teaching the Healthy Life curriculum and providing counseling to elementary age children (see photos and story!) We stayed booming all summer in our mental health counseling program and in our senior outreach programs. We are even participating in the United Way Tram Challenge on September 12 where participants will donate toiletries for our seniors. So all ages continue to rely on JFS ” For LIfe “!
One of my goals this year, with input from the Clinton Foundation and Congressman Raul Ruiz’s office, is to continue to build a continuum of care which would include the agencies that work with seniors (Roy’s Resource Center, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, Office on Aging, Salvation Army, Valley Senior Centers and Adult Protective Services to name a few) so that assistance to vulnerable fixed income seniors is easy to access and coordinate across the Valley. Stay tuned for updates!
We are, of course looking forward to our events including:
“Theodore Bikel: In the Shoes of Shalom Aleichem” a wonderful documentary film being presented by our JFS Auxiliary on November 8th at UC Riverside-Palm Desert Campus
The Annual Patron Party on December 7th at a lovely home at Tamarisk Country Club
Our wonderful fundraiser, Michael Childers Presents “One Night Only-Sondheim in Love” on April 20th at the McCallum Theatre
